HPV DNA Testing Is The Best Cervical Cancer Screening Option For Women Over 30

Good news for all women in the Netherlands,
Dutch researchers have concluded that cervical cancer screening involving human papilloma virus (HPV) DNA testing has the potential to reduce cervical cancer for all women over 30 – but this screening was only carried out on local women in Netherlands.
Five years later, significantly fewer women had lesions and cervical cancer in the HPV group compared with those given cytology alone.
The trial found the improved protection in the HPV group was largely due to the early detection of high-grade cervical lesions caused by HPV16, one of the key cancer-causing types of the human papilloma virus.
