DNAmazing Halloween Special - Ancient Man Has No Modern Kin Proven By Mitochondrial DNA Testing

It is indeed hard to trace the origin of the 5,000-year-old mummy based on a mitochondrial DNA testing in which its mt-DNA was sampled from its intestine.
Here’s the first paragraph of an article about the ancient man:
The 5,000-year-old mummy Öetzi, found in a glacier in the European alps 17 years ago and believed to be an ancestor of modern Europeans, actually belonged to a different genetic family and may have no living descendants…
However, dedicated scientists will attempt to carry on with Y-DNA testing (to track down paternal lineage) to see whether the descendants of this mummy are all extinct.
