DNA Testing – Demystified the Secrets of Medieval Manuscripts

DNA testing technology has expanded its use in tracing the time line of medieval manuscripts. Least people know that these manuscripts are able to provide a large pool of genetic data.

Unlocking the secrets can be performed by extracting and analyzing the DNA contained in these manuscripts with the long-term goal of creating a genetic database that can be used to determine when and where a manuscript was written. For your information, back then all the manuscripts were made by animal skin. This well-designed DNA extraction and comparison method are developed by NC State Assistant Professor of English Timothy Stinson.
